Winter Skills

.Winter walking can present a variety of challenges; therefore it is imperative for all mountaineering and hill walking enthusiasts to expand their composite skills in preparing for enjoyable, safe and efficient journeys. This course will help you to gain the skills required to move safely throughout the mountains in winter with independence and confidence.

Winter Skills 

This 2 day winter skills training course covers all the core skills necessary to walk safely in the mountains throughout the UK & Ireland in winter.

Scotland is the perfect venue for our winter skills courses.

During this course we will cover the following:

Equipment, navigation training, planning, weather forecasting, safe movement on steep ground, ice axe techniques, step cutting, crampon techniques, avalanche awareness, emergency shelters, all this whilst having fun.

Previous experience required:

Active mountain walker with a good level of fitness.
